When she met with us, the doctor had looked at the scans, but the radiologist hadn't been able to look at them so we don't really know for sure how much better they are than last time. The doctor mentioned that she's not trained to compare scans that might have been taken after different doses of MIBG and I know that the monitor adjusts for contrast during the scans, so I can't tell how much better the spots may be.
Rene will be on some low dose oral chemo after his oncologist has a chance to get all of the input from the scans expert and the oncologist in charge of Rene's MIBG in Seattle.
She said that Rene's disease has been made into a chronic condition and we are fortunate to be in that position.
She also talked to Rene about not eating too much processed sugar. It would be helpful if family and friends would help support him by not tempting him with sugar and processed foods.
Rene is very, very excited for Halloween and trick or treating tonight.
Thanks for all of your caring and support.
