The Team 4 Hope is funding neuroblastoma research right here at our own BC Children's Hospital. Rene, Luis, and I got to go meet the researchers in the lab, along with Lisa Hopkins, the one who started Team 4 Hope. The researchers told us that the project would not exist without the grant provided by Lisa and the Team 4 Hope.
I am sure that a cure for neuroblastoma must be found through research funded by regular people, like the Team 4 Hope. Neuroblastoma is rare enough that big pharmaceutical companies aren't going to cure it. But it's NOT that rare. Rene is not the only neuroblastoma patient in Victoria to die this year. Another child, who fought all these same years as Rene also died recently. We remember her every day, especially her determination to have fun, love her family and friends, and live her life to the fullest.
Thank you Oaklands PAC for helping to find a cure for future neuroblastoma patients and for honoring Rene!
